Another au cause I'm on a roll (long car ride listening to music) but what if miraculous ladybug au except the only similarity is the identity porn and convoluted love square where dream team are heroes and I can't figure out which identity would be in love with which but imagine:

Hero George is in love with hero dream and hero dream then rants about this spontaneous date he is going on in his civilian life and how he's kinda apprehensive of it (because I was listening to When He Sees Me) and then he goes on said date (who is obv civilian George) and ends up falling head over heels for him so he tells this to hero George who is angsting over himself. Naturally, dream's angst would come in the form of knowing that civilian George is with someone else even tho he is interested enough to keep meeting with him.

OR civilian george liking this cute blonde guy whose always preoccupied with something (and maybe someone?? George hopes not) and feeling kinda bad for his hero teammate who obviously has some sort of crush on him but he already likes someone else so

And the entire situation naturally devolving into the each of them gaining feelings for the other version of their crush simultaneously so they grapple with completely unnecessary conflict in classic mlb style.

Sapnap is just there with popcorn completely invested in the drama (he, too, has not figured out their identities and legit thinks his teammates have ones hell of a love life because the three of them collectively only have one braincell which is exclusively spent on battle strategies to defeat evil or whatever)

Dream and Technoblade were band mates, Dream sang, Techno played an electric violin. It was a matched no one thought would work but it did. What no one knew was that those two were more than just band mates, they were boyfriends.

It wasn't official and when outside they pretend that they were something like rivals. Why? Because that was what the people wanted to see, them flirting on stage like some hero and villain in a book got the fans to scream.

Social medias were filled with people discussing their relationship behind cameras. Some saying it was obvious that there was a certain tension, others saying they only worked together cause of the money but hated each others guts.

It was Dream's favorite acticity to check social media after a concert, happy to see people talking about them. The edits were also nice, all those shots of a sweaty Technoblade were blessing for his soul.

Techno was completely different, he hated social media and stayed away from it. Only occasional one sentence tweets were what fans got and damn, they interpreted a lot into one word. In the end they hoped to keep their true relationship secret, cause there wasn't anything better than teasing each other on stage, knowing kissing was not permitted.

Haha so, I've had a horrible terrible idea for the second au :)

Okay, so originally I was just thinking about how funny it would be to have a crossover between the aus, and then I was like "Karl would totally have a huge crush on the DTeam! It would be so funny if Tommy teased him about it"

But thenI got thinking and I was like "Huh, this Karl Im thinking doesn't really fit the second au, he's a bit too goofy, but he also doesn't fit the first au. How can I make him fit the second au so I can have poly dtk?"

Good news is, I figured it out! And with Karl added there looks like the Dteam have a better chance of healing without having to leave the hero profession. Bad news is Karl now has a backstory

Originally I was thinking of Karl having time travel powers (it's obvious but shut up everyone else is getting funky powers), he can go back up to 10 minutes and then has to wait the time he travelled to be able to go again. And snf would have a very complicated relationship with the idea of being able to go back in time,because they would do ANYTHING to be able to go back and stop Dream from getting hit by that bomb

And while that feeling is understandable, it is not a healthy mindset, so I was thinking of how I could show that and what I came up with is this:

Karl once decided he was going to use his powers to have the most perfect, flawless day. So he starts off his morning. He burns his toast, but that's fine! He goes back to do it again. When he gets up again he stubs his toe bur that's fine! He goes back to do it again. He trips when walking to the kitchen, but that's fine! He goes back to do it again.

He keeps restarting his day over and over again,getting more neurotic and paranoid about every single little thing. He has time travel powers, he should be able to have a perfect day! He can do it next time, he's sure of it! Just one more, just one more, and it will be perfect

Karl has no clue how long he lives in those ten minutes on that one morning, his best guess is a month. He only stops because eventually he gets too sick to even get up from the bed. He lays there, those ten minutes crawling by. It's almost an hour later when manages to crawl to his kitchen, he almost cries when he drinks water for the first time in a month. He texts his boss, a nice elderly lady that never cares when they need to take a few days off, warns her that he had a power related issue and can't come to work. He goes on with his day, tries feeling like a real person again

Was that good at explaining what I meant? But yeah, Karl once trapped himself in a time loop because he got too obsessed with doing everything perfectly. He talks about it with snf when they start getting to know each other better, and he's the thing that helps the DTeam start moving forward from the incident the most

The whole thing with a section of the mha fandom’s treatment of the villains reminds me of some dsmp superhero au fics. Where sbi were villains but they barely ever did actual bad stuff. Whereas DTeam was pretty much always the top dogs of a hero organization (hmmm) but they were the real bad guys. Come to think of it, there’s probably just an overlap between those two groups.

I've never read sbi fics but I believe you. What it does remind me of is cDreamers who were like he has a master plan guys and I was like ok one the plan is Going to be stupid as shit and it was and two what would it matter if he had a plan 😭😭

Like even if say All For One's plan was somehow hypothetically not ridiculous how would any of his actions justify literally any outcome

Then the video was uploaded, more insanity ensues! He has a mask made by someone who does hero masks like Spider-Man where he can see through it! Dteam had a whole bit where he was falling off since he face revealed mocking the people who think that is the case and by the end of the video Dream teased upcoming content and a date for UIEUD release! :D To confirm it’s for marketing purposes he uploaded the same tiktok to his music channel! So he is being smart in grabbing now only our attention but also the whole media and antis <3

c!Dream and c!Tommy: This is kinda undeniable. Like, in terms of their story, in terms of the Dream SMP, they are absolutely the heart and soul of the server. The c!Dream and c!Tommy show was such a thing that it has been like intentionally referenced and parodied within the story itself a million times. The story literally hinged on the idea of their opposing each other, c!Tommy-as-hero and c!Dream-as-villain, to the point where their whole you know finale and the closure for both characters involved realizing that they actually wanted the same thing and intentionally stepping out of the roles given them. Nothing really compares, sorry c!Discduo for the poll (but the heart wants what it wants XD)

c!Dream and c!Wilbur: I cannot believe they ended up ranking so low like I'm actually appalled. SLASH JAY but like . guys. Guys Please. c!Dream and c!Tommy's whole schtick forms the beating heart of this server because the story c!Wilbur wrote about them was its backbone. Like it's incredibly difficult to actually overstate how much c!Wilbur actually influences how c!Dream ends up--the paranoid spiral he ends up on is a direct influence of the increasing isolation he lived up until November 16th--this is why c!Quackity is so confident when he states c!Dream has no one left during dethronement and this is why c!Wilbur knows that c!Dream has no one in inconsolable differences. c!Dream doesn't exist in a vacuum and the whole, L'manburg narrative tyrant-villain-monster idea that originates from Wilbur ends up culminating in the identity that c!Dream ends up assuming to accomplish what he wants like hoooly shit he quotes "unfinished symphony" in Doomsday and he expects c!Wilbur to save him from the prison to the point of calling on him as his savior before basically Anyone and he lists c!Wilbur's name with c!Sam and c!Quackity post-prison like. Shit's fucked. Anyway.

c!Dream and c!Sam: Look I warned you guys I was going to be a little selfish. A Tad. Though, you know, it's kinda hard to compare in terms of like, you know, the fact that they literally spent a fuckin year together with almost no one else--sure there were visitors, sure Quackity happened, but like so much about them is very much isolated to. Them. (Also the ccs very clearly got a little carried away w/ these two and this reflects onto their like, Everything XD). With c!Sam and c!Dream it's less about well, straightforward comparisons and more about the Multitudes--c!Sam as the Plan, and c!Sam as part of the time and part of the server that c!Dream idealizes, and c!Sam as the cage for the monster the punishment for the evil the one that holds the villain away. And obviously while c!Dream doesn't um redefine his whole identity to base it on c!Sam the way that c!Sam does with c!Dream, the power of the trauma bond established over a year of Nothing Else does makes c!Dream noticeably more comfortable, almost, with c!Sam compared to like quite literally everyone else post-prison. Which is. Y'know.

c!Dteam (emphasis on c!Dnf): Admittedly, I'm not the biggest c!dnfer around by a long shot, so I don't really have as much to say here--but you know, considering c!Dteam very literally symbolize what c!Dream desires like. They're an extremely important part of who he is, what he wants, and why he does what he does. There's a reason why dethronement (and the cutting ties with c!Sapnap and c!George) is such a defining moment in terms of showing when he's fully burned bridges with the rest of the server, when he totally stands alone, etc. Obviously c!George is the originator of the "big happy family" line and well his mutual interests line up with c!Dream's quite a bit more than c!Sapnap's do, but as far as c!Dream is concerned both relationships are very much important to him and symbolic of happier times (and he's quite convinced that well. Both of them kinda want him dead, for reasonable reasons. So.)

c!Techno and c!Dream: This is where numbers get finicky, admittedly. As much as I love c!Rivals, and I love them a lot, I struggle a bit to put them on a definitive ranking. Because...well, on one hand, c!Techno is absolutely very high on c!Dream's priority list like as a character. I have said before and I'll say again that some of the most like outstanding displays of loyalty on the server come from c!Dream coming in c!Techno's defense at GREAT risk of personal harm--this guy literally stares down and denies both of his fucking torturers for c!Techno, like holy shit. c!Dream really fucking likes the guy like. So damn much. At the same time though, we're talking more...narrative importance versus importance to the character from a character's perspective--which is part of why c!Dteam is as high as they are, imo--while they're extremely important in terms of c!Dream's motivations and how he defines the whole "happy family" ideal around the idea of them living peacefully as a family, as far as actually looking at character interactions...especially post-dethronement they mostly just. Exist as figures that c!Dream yearns for but is also really fucking scared of. There's not as much consistent character interaction and frankly when we're talking about a character that's actively suppressing what he actually wants, they're not exactly high on his mental priority list either. All this being said, c!Techno definitely gets points by being one of the main vehicles by which we see c!Dream's like, humanity--being one of the few characters not to treat him as just a monster to be defeated and having similar ideals and therefore being an obvious comparison to make. Which is obviously important when we're talking about c!Dream, who was keeping himself rather in the dark.

c!Dream and c!Punz: Another real struggle to rank--I'd understand putting them up higher, but what really holds me back is well. c!Dream and c!Punz is the same as c!Dream and the Plan. And don't get me wrong, the Plan is extremely important to c!Dream as a character and like defines a lot of his actions especially post-revive book onwards, but what complicates this is like...well c!Punz as a character in terms of c!Dream? Like, he's just. He's just the Plan. That is his purpose, that's who he is supposed to be, and of course the Plan is important and of course c!Punz's like motivations here end up playing a big part in the tangled mess of what c!Dream ends up doing when we're talking what he starts ranting about in the third finale stream, but like. Well it's really not about c!Punz, innit, it's about what they're working together towards. c!Punz is secondary to the plan in a way that you really can't say the same for when you're talking about, say, c!Wilbur + the L'manburg narrative, or c!Sam and the prison. I can see an argument for them being higher just because like, if we're talking major c!Dream arcs, it's reasonable to have c!Dream and c!Tommy as being like a presence as the "main characters" in Wilbur's story starting the revolutionary war and ending at the genuine finale with c!Dream's main character development being split between the previously-named season finales--c!Wilbur being the main influence leading up to November 16th as c!Dream takes on the villain mantle, The Plan (and therefore c!Punz) driving him until Staged Finale, and the c!Sam and the Prison being the main force until the prison break...but well. There's just not enough of c!Punz and c!Dream actually acting together as a duo in terms of give and take in this dynamic to really make me put them higher--what's really important about c!Punz and c!Dream is just. The Plan and the Plan alone. Anyway, I'm decently flexible about this, but eeeeeeeh.

SO FIRST UP DREAM TEAM!! WAHOO

Dream is a psychic with the ability to travel into someone's mind, essentially creating a pocket dimension. This lets him read their thoughts, see their memories, and teleport anywhere in their field of vision. This also translates to him being empathetic. He mostly uses his powers to keep himself mobile, and is actually pretty hesitant to dig around in someone's head after an incident with Tommy a few years ago that left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

Sapnap has physical powers that let him heat his body up at will and manipulate fire. As long as he's in an oxygen rich environment, he can set the air around him on fire. He can't cool his body down, however, and he can't put fires out- just move them around. He's pretty hotheaded (ha) and tends to rush into things guns blazing (extra ha).

George is another psychic who can put people to sleep, manipulate their dreams (to an extent, he can control the mood of them), and make those dreams a reality. So if someone's dreaming about the stay puff marshmallow man, he can make the stay puff marshmallow man terrorize the city block or if they're dreaming about a gun, he can use that gun and so on. Anything construct he creates does disappear when the person wakes up. Almost everyone gets him and Dream's powers confused with each other, to both of their annoyance (Sapnap does it on purpose).

NEXT TEAM WHOO!

Punz is a psychic with the ability to conjure any object he's seen before, so he usually uses it to make weapons and he's big into knifes. I don't have much more to say about his powers so a little backstory, he split off from Dream when they were all 18-19 years old after Punz's entire hometown was wiped off the map, killing his family. (This is a superhero au so everyone gets tragic superhero backstories god damn it)

Foolish is basically a waterbender on steroids, he can control any liquid and also 'sense' it. He can feel the water in sewers or in people, which does let him do some recon, with varying degrees of success, of course. The more viscous a liquid is, the harder it is for him to control and he can't change it's temperature, so if it's ice he's out of luck. And though he can feel the water in humans, he can't move someone around like a meat puppet. If they're bleeding he can use that blood, though. Along with this he can also breathe underwater.

Tina!!! Along with being a cat (having faster reflexes, better balance, and retractable claws) she can make anything she draws 3D. She's not psychic though, since she is manipulating the physical world. She uses mostly chalk and spray paint because those are the easiest to use on the go, and anything she creates retains the look of the materials used to create it. It also stays the size she painted it. Her art isn't alive, however, so she can't create a doodle bob (much to the chagrin of Foolish).

AND THATS EVERYONE I HAVE SO FAR!! I have plans for Tommy, Wilbur, and Tubbo who are all part of a team/agency that Wilbur founded. There were more people but a lot left after the incident that happened between them and Dream. (Unfortunately I am a C!dream stan through and through even in AUs so lmanberg gang was mostly in the wrong during that 😔✊) The syndicate is another hero team but they operate in another city so we won't see them much. Though rivals are still very much close friends who I have Plans™️ for

OH ALSO I need to draw them but Karl and Quackity are both psychics who work under the same agency as dteam with different teams as needed. Karl can move himself forward and backwards in time by a few seconds to a minute (he can push it more but the further he gets from the present the harder it is to get back. At one point he did get lost in the past until Dream was able to rescue him, which resulted in Karl forgetting a lot of really important things in his personal life). Quackity can control his own luck, so things tend to just sort of go right for him. It's not infallible, of course, but the really bad shit tends to happen to everyone else (operative word there being tends).

LITERALLY MY COMFORT SHOW. I'm watching season 7 rn cause I didn't manage to watch it before and in the 5th episode the hero, Dan, makes a joke abt putting his cap back on and Tan complimented his hair and stuff and I was like OH MY GOD SAPNAP?
